The special school run by Sangopita is to educate the residents of the shelter home in behavioural, functional, academics, language and motor skills by specially trained educators who teach them at the pace best suited for the beneficiaries. Stress is given on training each inmate on a one to one basis according to each one’s capabilities. The counselling psychologist initially appraises each child and prepares a curriculum which is followed by special educators and periodically monitored by Educational Head. Apart from these, adult residents are kept engaged with vocational trainings and activities.
Annual progress reports are made, based on it further course of teaching is determined.
